Ghana police said on October 4 local time that a serious traffic accident occurred in Ashanti Province, killing at least 13 people and wounding 11 others.
Police said the accident occurred on October 3 local time, about 51 kilometers south of Kumasi, the capital of Ashanti province. A truck from Kumasi to Accra, the capital, deviated from the direction after chasing another truck, and then collided with an oncoming bus, killing 13 people on the spot.
Police said the 11 injured, including a child, had been taken to hospital for treatment. The police have detained the driver and launched further investigation into the accident.
