The two sides confirmed that they would abide by the spirit of the four point consensus on principles between China and Japan, strengthen dialogue and consultation on sea related affairs, constructively control contradictions and differences, promote practical cooperation in defense, environmental protection, search and rescue, fisheries, disaster prevention and personnel exchanges, enhance mutual understanding and trust, reduce doubts, misunderstandings and misjudgments, and maintain peace and stability at sea.
